Hello!
Spring is well under way and everything is going well in the vineyard -- our Norton, Foche, Cayuga White, Traminette and Frontenac vines are pruned and growing well.  Our newest addition to the vineyard -- Vidal Blanc and St. Vincent vines-- are now safely in the ground.  Two more acres of grapes that should be producing for us in several years!  Next the grow tubes will be placed around each vine and then we need some well-timed rains to get them going strong.  Now that the grapes are pruned and planted we'll continue working on our tobacco barn/event space.

We now have a humidor stocked with a selection of fresh hand rolled cigars from Weston Tobacco.  We have a range of cigars, from sweet to heavy.  Enjoy a locally produced hand rolled cigar in our outdoor seating area.  Try a cigar with a Riverwood Red or White Eminence port-style wine or with a dram of our selection of single malt scotches!

Recent Wine Releases!

Riverwood Red Eminence
We once again have our Riverwood Red Eminence available.  This is a rich Port-style wine made with 2010 oak-aged Chambourcin and fortified with grape spirits.  Sweet, luscious and eighteen percent alcohol by volume!  Delicious after dinner with dessert or dark chocolate!  

Developments at our Vineyard Location

Work on the tobacco barn as an event location for weddings, receptions, wine dinners, and corporate retreats is once again underway now that the busy spring season of planting and pruning is behind us.  We'll continue work on the project as we can, and we hope to start events sometime in the summer of 2012. Once all of the work on the historic barn is finished we'll start taking reservations.

Try our Charcuterie Tray!
For a special treat let us put together for you a charcuterie tray of dry-cured salami, Parmesan cheese, assorted relishes, pickles and olives, assorted nuts, crusty bread, and olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Fantastic with a port-style wine such as Riverwood Red Eminence or Riverwood White Eminence! Serves two. $14.99.

We also have several new Small Plates available:

• Parmesan and Walnuts: The first plate feaures a wedge of aged Parmesan Cheese served with toasted, spiced walnuts from the Riverwood kitchen. This plate pairs perfectly with our White Eminence port-style wine! ($8.79)

• Our second plate is a delicious treat that caught our eye in a recent Food & Wine magazine. It comes to your table as components to be assembled DIY-style: Our Rustic Sardines with Toasts features a basket of baguette slices toasted with extra virgin olive oil; a tin of rich, smoked sardines; a sweet reduction of balsamic vinegar; and a dish of flaky sea salt. Top a toast with a sardine, drizzle with a little reduced balsamic glaze and sprinkle with the sea salt. This interesting and tasty rustic plate is a great accompaniment to red or white wine! ($10.79)
