Wines
We are pleased to release several new wines produced in the tanks at
Riverwood Winery. Try them on your next visit!
- Riverwood
Reserve Chardonel -- The juice for this off-dry wine was
fermented for ten days. The wine was then allowed to undergo a long
secondary fermentation on the yeast and lees. The wine was aged for ten
months in tanks without oak enhancement. The result is a supple, silky
wine with aromas of butterscotch and vanilla. This wine pairs nicely
with fish such as salmon or tuna, dishes with rich sauces such as shrimp
scampi, or pasta with cream sauces.
Residual Sugar: 2.5 percent
Alcohol: 14% by volume
pH: 3.9
Total Acidity: 0.6 g/100ml
- Riverwood
Reserve Traminette -- The juice for this moderately sweet wine
was fermented for six days, and then allowed to age for ten months in
tanks. To add complexity to the typically floral aromas and fruity
flavors of the Traminette, we blended it with a small amount of Vignole
wine, the grapes for which came from the Platte County vineyards of
Laurel Brooke Bed & Breakfast, located just five miles from Riverwood
Winery. The wine was lightly filtered and not cold-stabilized so it is
normal to find some natural sediment in the bottle. The sweetness of
this wine complements and helps tame the heat of spicy Asian and Indian
dishes.
Residual Sugar: 4-5 percent
Alcohol: 11.5% by volume
pH: 3.7
Total Acidity: 0.65 g/100ml
